Ice World
The goal of this project was to create either a dystopia or utopia of an interior and exterior environment along with potential characters and an artist statement describing the piece.
When I first started thinking about the world that I wanted to create I thought about what I was interested in and what would keep me interested for the duration of the project. The first thing I thought of were cartoons that I watched and that’s when I settled on using adventure time as my inspo for the project, more specifically the ice kingdom since there were multiple worlds in the show itself.
We used pinterest to gather images that we thought could help aid our project in terms of the design aspect as well as the color scheme. Here are a few of the images gathered:
During this process it was a love/hate relationship. I started off using photoshop using the line tool to create individual lines and as you can see from the inspo above there are a lot of lines so it was very tedious and time consuming. Below is when I started out on photoshop:
I ended up using procreate to draw the world which was a lot easier and then moved it into photoshop to add the final touches. Throughout this process we had critiques as a class to show our progress as well as give feedback to each other on what we liked or what we thought should be added.
